Patient 1

Patient diagnosed with left unilateral cleft lip and palate who underwent 3 months of nasal alveolar molding (NAM). The purpose of NAM is to correct or reduce the severity of the deformity of the gum pads (alveolar segments). An additional benefit is improvement of the deformity of the nose (nasal cartilage form, skin, and mucosal lining). This treatment has been shown to be beneficial in preparing the baby for surgical correction of the cleft deformity.

In second after photo, patient has undergone Primary rhinoplasty, Primary cleft lip repair and a two stage palatoplasty.
